In the snow

We just returned home from the hospital.  We have several inches of snow on the highway and are due for many more.

This morning, we met with a third pediatrician and are glad to have made a decision.  We’re going with the Children’s Hospital Pediatric & Adolescent Care practice that is 90 seconds from our house.  It’s very relieving to have that behind us.

From there, we went to the hospital to check on Lilly and Josiah.  Lilly has her cannula out and is breathing room air (I think that was in yesterday’s news) and now has her feeding tube in her nose (which is a step forward, even if it sounds gross and less desirable than in her mouth).  She’s an eating machine and is continually moving up in her feedings now that she is done with her neoprofen for her heart valve.  Bethany held her (all wrapped up) earlier today and when we went back tonight, I got to change her and hold her.

Josiah’s also doing well – he got moved up on his feeds just a little bit.  Hopefully he will keep getting them increased and will start putting on some ounces.  Hopefully he’ll lose the cannula in the next day or two.
