Pictures from THANKSgiving

We had an amazing Thanksgiving! The ONLY downfall was the overnight stay. The twins were up ALL night. We were about to leave (at 4:30 am) but then....blissful silence and everyone slept for another 2 1/2 hours. Needless to say, we're all tired, but so happy.

Here are pictures from the holiday...

Turkey. Stuffing. Turkey. Turkey.

So excited for Thanksgiving tomorrow.

The last two years we've had Steve's family at our house for the holiday, but this year the little ones- days away from being 10 months old- make it IMPOSSIBLE to host anything.

I have fond memories of Thanksgiving....Macy's Day Parade, football, cooking, Christmas music, brisk after-dinner walk, naps, decorating for Christmas and turkey sandwiches from tasty leftovers.

Oh yes.

I love Thanksgiving.

This year, we're packing up the kids (and the car-TO THE MAX) to spend Thanksgiving with my family in PA. We'll spend the night there as well-barring any unforeseen difficulties. Last time we spent the day there, an overtired Josiah cried for 3 hours and refused to take a nap. We took turns cradling, walking, re-swaddling, and bouncing him until our arms were numb and our backs hurt. Sometimes, it's NOT FUN being the parent. Although it may seem inflexible, we find it extremely important to stick to their sleeping and eating schedule. We're looking forward to the one year mark when we'll faze out the morning nap and make other adjustments to make things a little less ridged.

Any twin parents have thoughts about holiday travel/parties? We've done quite a bit of reading and talking with other people to gain insight in order to make holidays as enjoyable and relaxing as possible. I've found Parents.com to be a helpful website on a variety of topics.

Although we've taken a couple sets of pictures I'd love to share, we're waiting to see which ones we'll use for our Christmas cards. Here are two preview pictures:

Yes. He did this the WHOLE time.

Blurry, but still my FAVORITE smile.

On a completely unrelated note, we've found the TV series Parenthood to be a new favorite of ours. We've only started watching it this season, but so far, we love it....can definitely relate to bits and pieces.

Also, CONGRATULATIONS to our friends Dave and Jen and big brother, Erik on the birth of Shane. So excited to meet the newest addition!!! Welcome to the world little man!

Happy Thanksgiving.

There is SO MUCH to be grateful for.

So very much...

This week, we're excited to have a shortened work schedule to celebrate Thanksgiving and be with the ones that we love. I can't believe Christmas is actually around the corner, which made me think of all the holidays Steve and I have shared over the last 8 years or so. This one is truly unique. Can't wait to see what the twins think of it all!

Oh yes. He does this all the time now...
