Fortress a la Baby

As the twins turn mobile, we've begun the process of baby-proofing the house.

It's exhausting work!

Gone are the breakables, the picture frames within finger reach, the carefully arranged couch pillows and coffee table!

We've rented a storage unit in preparation for when we move (maybe a year from now?) and to open up our living space. We'll be converting the large loft area (which was a poor attempt at an office, than a guest room, then storage) into a grown-ups only living room. So excited!

Steve graciously agreed to store the huge tv he had purchased when a bachelor for something more appropriate for the living room space we now share with the twins and their chaos.

The result is something more manageable...nothing large or spacious really, but enough for everyone to be comfortable and happy.

Lilly STILL does not find the need to crawl- little stinker- though we are working on that particular skill with earnest. She is the sweetest most patient little girl in the world. She always has a shy little smile for you. My favorite is when she kicks her legs and waves her arms in excitement when she sees Steve or I.

Josiah is a MONSTER! He even crawls like a monster- hands wide apart, knees banging the carpet in a steady rhythm. Growing up with a sister, I didn't realize how crazy boys were! But his smile....oh he has the largest, "impiest" smile. It's that I'm-so-crazy-but-you-can't-resist-me kind of grin. We LOVE it. Wouldn't have our boy any other way.

I hold these images in my mind through the day. They are precious to me.

Our for a playdate at the park with Aunt Michelle, Tim, and Connor. So much fun!!!!
