Had to share this:

After a month's absence, two posts in one day?!

I couldn't help it. I felt like I had to shout this quote to the entire world (though I may have been the last to have heard it).

After reading this lovely and meaningful blog entry by photographer Jamie Moore on the photoshoot of her five year old daughter, I glazed over this quote by Hellen Keller than read it again. And again. And again.

This school year has been very rough. There have been times (are times) I want to throw in the towel. If I could laugh and cry at once, I would have after reading this:

"Be of good cheer. Do not think of today's failure, but of the success that may come tomorrow. You have set yourselves a difficult task, but you will succeed if you perservere; and you will find joy in overcoming obstacles. Remember, that no effort we make to attain something beautiful is ever lost. What I am looking for is not out there- it's in me."

I am so tired. So sick of all the videos or negative comments about teaching. There are teachers who do not care about their jobs and who very well may be BAD at them. It's hard to hear the profession I love knocked down and devalued. It's hard to feel represented by the few.

Thank you to all the coworkers who are amazing educaters....who truly inspire and challenge me. Who I share my job and my life with. Who juggle family and work and who do a spectacular job at it.

Happy Teacher's Appreciation Week and Happy Mother's Day.

"Grandmas are moms with lots of frosting."

Happy Mother's (Grandmother's) Day
to these two crazy, loving, amazing women.

Can't wait to spend the weekend together-

a few snapshots from the past several years...

We love you!!!
