"You can't rewind a moment in this life"

My ITunes account tells me that I have 3670 songs; roughly 9.5 days of continual play time.

While many people would consider this r'epertoire modest at best, I am quite proud, if only because it has taken me several years to build this assortment. I love finding new music and frequently check the ITunes store to see availability of the latest and greatest musical treasures. There aren't a whole long of genres I don't care for.

Of the many songs on "My Favorites" playlist, Nickelback's "If Today Was Your Last Day" ranks among the most frequently listened to songs.

For obvious reasons, this song is extremely inspirational and much like a well-loved novel, every time I listen to or read the lyrics I find some nugget of truth, encouraging word or motivating thought to chew on.

I was able to meet some of my co-workers (and friends) for lunch today at a local restaurant. I hadn't seen them since the surprise arrival of the twins and was anxious to catch up, eat good food and enjoy the weather.

Without the car seats in the car, I could move my seat to a more comfortable angle, allowing me to drive without keeping my knees bent. (Helpful hint: consider how a car seat will fit in your car before buying and installing it!)

With the wind in my hair, seat back, and music blasting at an obnoxious level, I was able to enjoy an hour and a half of ME time today thanks to my wonderful husband.

The last song that played before I pulled into our neighborhood was, "If Today Was Your Last Day" (to listen, click here). The segment that stuck with me this time is "you can't rewind a moment in this life".

People have been telling Steve and I that we need to enjoy every moment with the babies because this time will FLY by and never return. Let me assure you we are.

There are no "do-overs". There are no second lives. There are no guarantees.

There is only today.

It's easy to be negative, irresponsible, selfish, bitter, or impatient and I do believe there are appropriate times for all these things. Thankfully, for as many people as I know with these "itises", there are more I find who are able to live in the present and love unselfishly.

As Max Lucado, a well-known author says, "The secret of loving is living loved."

Hi guys!
Terrific blog entry. I love times like that when you crank up the tunes and drive with the windows down looking forward to good times with girl friends! However, the songs I listen to are not on a cool Ipod--I just listen to a CD of 1970's Hit Parade. Bawhahaha!
Hugs!
