Just like Jack

As any mother does, I think my babies are the BEST in the whole wide world! Everyone at the hospital is astonished that they are progressing on feedings so steadily for their gestational age (35 weeks). Although I really have no part in that area of their impressive development, I can't help but feel proud. Today it's feeding and tomorrow it's Harvard. Bring it on, baby!!!

Josiah moved up to 6 (as opposed to 4) feedings by bottle today!!!! Once he masters this, he'll need to complete 8 feedings, on-demand feedings and then get off that caffeine and stop the dips in heart rate.

Lillybel is now up to 8 feedings!!!!! As long as she can complete these successfully for a while and move to on-demand feedings, she'll be coming home!!! I spent some time in their room tonight organizing random things we've thrown in there since their birth (bemoaning our lack of storage space) and dreaming of their little faces around the house.

Every day they fill out a little more and respond to our voices and touch. It's incredibly satisfying.

Here are pictures I took from my phone. I apologize for the lower quality, we didn't take any with our camera today! Can you believe it??? The hours fly by as we become more involved in their care and feeding and as we discuss discharge procedures with doctors and nurses.

We are at the end of a great day and in just a few minutes I hope to curl up like one of our cats and drift into a peaceful sleep.

Sweet dreams....

Thanks sooooo much for your words and the pictures. I know you are tired and must think about skipping posting to the blog on occasion. Checking the blog for new words and new pictures is our daily way of connecting to you and the kids. The pictures are so good that we feel connected to them. Thats the point!! Keep it up!
Love, Dad/Daddy Steve
