We choose the 11 mile/6 hour trip for a good challenge. The river and mountains were gorgeous and the weather was sunny and warm. I did get attached by a few dragonflies. Let me tell you.. it was pretty scary. We hit some great rapids every couple miles, and stopped for a quick lunch on a river bank. Here are some pictures of our canoeing trip.
We were both so exhausted from the trip on the ride back to the Outfitter's after our pickup.
When we finished, we were extremely exhausted! We made the 6 hour trip in 4 1/2 hours. I am so sore! It was hard to match Steve's strokes and we only rested for a few minutes towards the end. We both ended up with sun burnt faces, shoulders and knees! Aloe has become my best friend :) I've carried it with me all evening.
When we came home, we showered, smeared on the aloe and took at nap. 2 1/2 hours later, we woke up and Steve put some steaks we had marinated earlier on the grill. They turned out to be really good (a lot better than Steve's hamburgers the night before)! Steve made a fire in the outside fireplace, and we ate steaks, potato salad, and baked beans- a great dinner and a wonderful end to a successful day.
