Bethany has been recovering like a champ and gets to go home today. The hospital has told us we can leave any time today (out by midnight), so we’re trying to figure out when to plan to go. We want to make sure we are home while we still have energy – the trip home will be tiring for both of us.
Lilly and Josiah were doing well when we last checked on them last night. Josiah has been breathing very shallow breaths and might go back to the ventilator if he can’t get it under control. His carbon dioxide levels were okay yesterday – we’ll find out in a little bit if they are still okay today.
Both of them were laying on their bellies (they’ve had both umbilical lines removed and have an IV in their hands) and look like they were snuggled in and sleeping well last night.
Starting this afternoon, instead of calling the hospital room, call the house at 856-380-2729.
We’ll try to put together an update before we go to bed tonight.
