Vacation at Massanutten–Days 5 and 6

[Note: This is from our vacation at Massanutten Resort in early November, I’m just behind at getting these posted!]

Like on Thursday, we spent Friday at the water park.  It opened at noon and we spent the morning getting ready and running errands.  The kids were predictably exhausted when we made it back home at the end of the day.

On Saturday, the park was a bit more active.  The kids’ spent almost the entire time on trips down the slides.  After we left and had dinner, there were 2 hours left before the park closed and we made a spur-of-the-moment decision to pack up and go back until closing.  The kids were tired but they had fun with it.

Some videos:

The kids waiting patiently for Beth and I to get everything put away in the locker and head out to play…

Notice how Lilly’s hair is so dry here…

And now it will be hours before we’re that dry again!

This yellow wheel opens a valve which pours tons of water out the pipe up high.  I would stand where it would fall and Josiah would turn it on, then off, then back on again.  He laughed and loved it each time.

Beth going down the slides!

I wasn’t the target audience when they designed these but it is the fastest way to chase after the kids…

The kids enjoyed these orange slides because they could slide down and walk back up to them without leaving our sight (which meant they could do it “on their own” and feel a bit independent).

The rules required slide riders to sit and go down the slide.  Inevitably, both kids would flip onto their stomach right before they went down…

Lilly absolutely loved being underwater – she worked so hard at it and had fun learning…

Not really much to say about this…

Lilly was congratulating and giving hugs to slide riders who came down while she waited for Josiah.
