Third Trimester Woes & Such

At 31 1/2 weeks, I am officially 6 days past the time when I carried the twins. Call me crazy, but already there's a huge difference. Although my belly isn't as cone-shaped as it was during my first pregnancy (there was a lot of snuggling going on in there!) I can feel everything changing and settling in there for the long hall. Sometimes I just keep telling myself, "Nine more weeks. You can do it!"

I won't bore you with the litany of new symptoms, but HOLY COW, HEARTBURN! I feel like an old lady! I've had to drastically change what I eat and drink- and when I eat and drink it- to minimize this crazy pregnancy induced change. Starting last evening and continuing throughout the night and today, I've really been struggling. I ate half a bagel this morning, some chicken broth at lunch, and a bowl of cereal for dinner and still it keeps coming up! How gross.

Anyway... (let's be honest, you're sighing in relief) let's talk about the kids.

Today the most amazing thing happened! We'd been out running things to the storage unit, stopping at the store, house hunting and finally lunch together at Panera when we spotted two fire engines turning into and circling throughout our neighborhood.

The firemen were wearing Santa hats and putting on a show for the kids! They had all the lights and sirens on and were giving out mini-candy canes. We were so excited! Steve grabbed Josiah and I waited with Lilly who was completely passed out (she'd had a really rough day) in the car. The fire truck paused to say hello and give Josiah a candy cane. As soon as they left, he kept repeating, "More! More!" What an awesome thing to do for the community. Given our experience in the last year, we obviously feel very strongly about the sacrifices firemen and policemen make to keep others safe.

Steve and I have every single Christmas present wrapped! There's a few last minute things to get, but all in all, we've made substantial headway. We had a fun time wrapping and labeling them together while we watched episodes of Bones and The Office. A very relaxing evening after a crazy day.

Out on a walk the other day. It was freezing! I really did try to get a picture of Josiah, but he was just one giant blur.

I'm officially and irrevocably hooked on Pinterest. It's a website that's organized like a "bulletin board" in which people simply post (or pin) ideas or pictures of things they like. I know it sounds weird, but once you browse through it a couple times, I can almost guarantee you'll be hooked too. There's everything from quotes to food to house ideas, organization, health and fitness, wedding and events, etc. Very inspirational.

Found this one tonight that I loved:
