Mom, dad and I were hanging out in the living room when we heard Josiah get up from his nap (Lilly slept in our bed). My mom went back to get him and then told me that Josiah had something to show me. Wouldn't you know....our potty training experience with him went to a whole new level. There in his bed, scattered across his blankets and next to a wadded up diaper, were several poop turds. He was quite proud and kept yelling "poop". What a guy.
Not every outing with the kids is great (i.e. lunch at Don Pablos with my parents where the kids refused to stay in their booster seats and whined and cried the whole time....so annoying). But, there are enough good times to balance out the bad ones. Like today for example...
We've had the windows in the house open for the last several days which have been very cool. Steve and I loooove autumn. I've been burning my Pumpkin Vanilla and Gingerbread candles, playing lots of music, spending time outside as much as possible and enjoying the cool breeze & bright days. Perfection!
This morning we woke up to the kids talking to each other and yelling"Mama! Dada!"at the baby gate across their bedroom door. I peeked around the corner and smiled because they were so excited to see me. I explained that I had to go to the bathroom but that I'd be back. They were antsy until I came in and then they helped me pick out clothes for the day. The house was chilly, but we bundled up and snacked on Cheerios and played with toys.
Steve and I grabbed showers and got the kids ready for our 9:30 play class at a local kid's place. We'd never been there before and were excited at the opportunity to goof around with the kids in a structured environment. The class wasn't exactly what we were hoping for and the facility wasn't great, but it was ok. They especially like morocca time. Josiah was a real sight. He found everything he wasn't supposed to get into like open the door to the cleaning closet, etc. To be honest, the things he was getting into, shouldn't have been an issue. The facility should've locked the closet, had a better baby gate, etc. We have the kid that'll figure out it all, so we end up hyper aware of those things.

As soon as we got back in the car, Josiah conked out and Lilly shortly after. Both Steve and I were hungry (haven eaten nothing all morning) so we stopped at Dunkin' Donuts for breakfast sandwiches. It was a nice treat.
Our first stop was Walmart for a new headlight, but we ended up driving to check out a local state park and then sitting in Walmart parking lot while the kids slept. Having had an early morning and then playing hard, they needed the rest and we needed the break. After Walmart we ran to Lowes for window locks. The kids are strong enough to open the windows and our screens won't keep them in. Between our new house alarm system and these locks, we should be set.

We stopped at home for lunch and all sat down to eat together which was extremely pleasant. The kids loved Steve's chicken noodle soup, so he ended up sharing most of that with them. It was cute to watch them slurp from the spoon like big kids.
The kids napped for a little bit and then we were off to Ikea to get new hampers for Steve and I. The ones we needed to replace had served us well, but they were looking super shabby. We knew the kids would be hungry and restless, but after we stopped to get them dinner in the cafeteria, they were pretty good. Lilly made up like a bandit. She got a puppy dog and a fake flower which she wouldn't stop smelling. Lucky duck!
Steve and I grabbed Chick-fil-A on the way home and we ate while the kids talked to themselves. Once home, the kids went to bed (and hour late) and here we sit in the perfect calm of evening.
The evidence:
Baby 3 and I at 20 weeks!!! Halfway there!
We'll try to get proper pictures outside tomorrow if the weather cooperates.
We've had such a good day with them and with each other!
