Since we came home early from camping, we wanted to make sure to fill the remaining days with fun activities. On Sunday, we recovered (recovered = slept) from the past few days and mapped out an agenda for the week.
Monday – Franklin Institute
We have a membership at the Franklin Institute and figured that would be a good fit for Monday. The kids love the steam locomotive they have on display (Baldwin 60000) and many of the other exhibits.
As is customary, they all passed out and slept in the car on the way home…
Tuesday – New Hope and Ivyland Railroad (website)
On Tuesday, Noah spent the day with Granny while we took the older two to rideo n the New Hope and Ivyland Railroad (in New Hope, PA). They have a “Song & Story Hour” in their first class (and air conditioned!) car where a storyteller reads railroad-related stories and sings some songs with the kids. We were cautiously excited when we were the only ones in the car (turns out we’d been the only Song & Story Hour passengers all day). The kids sat on the floor and loved it.

When it was time for the engine to hook on to the other end of the train, the kids got to watch it go by.
Josiah’s full attention was on the locomotive as it coupled at the other end of the train.

He was so excited to stand there as the locomotive pulled up to couple on to the end of the train. He was waving to the engineer as they got closer.
Wednesday – The Crayola Experience, Easton PA
On Wednesday, we took Granny along for a trip to the Crayola Experience. Aside from the parking ticket that we saw being placed on our windshield as we rounded the corner, it was a great trip. The kids held up as well as could be expected and had fun playing with all of the different exhibits.

Thursday – Swimming with Aunt Michelle
Thursday was our last vacation day and we went to Aunt Michelle’s to visit and swim for a bit.
