Merry Christmas!

Last night, Santa came to visit us – Beth posted pictures as proof he was here!

We all had a great time today.  Lilly was up at 6 so she and I hung out by the Christmas Tree playing games until we went in to wake Beth up at 7 so she could be awake before Josiah.  Like very morning, when Josiah wakes up, he quickly accelerates to full speed.  Once he was awake a little after 7, we got to have our first Christmas together.

I had practiced unwrapping presents with both of the kids a few times.  Lilly got it but Josiah wasn’t really interested.  We sat with them and encouraged them both to try unwrapping their presents:

After opening presents here, we fed the little monsters and let them take their morning nap.  Josiah must have been too excited because he wouldn’t nap.  I put him down and he slept for a half hour, then wanted to be up and play with his toys!

He played for a little bit while we got things ready to go over for the Creel Family Christmas.

The kids did great!  They both ripped open wrapping paper (Lilly and I had practiced ripping pieces of wrapping paper since I didn’t want to wrap entire practice gifts…  She took that a bit too literal, as she kept ripping every little piece of paper!) and were great at being patient as everyone else opened their presents.

The kids got a ton of great clothes.  Beth and I were both excited at how the clothes reflect a part of the people who gave them.

It’s 11:30 and waaaaay past our bedtime.  Hopefully we’ll have time to tell some other fun Christmas Day stories over the next few days when we are home on our Winter Break from school!

Merry Christmas!
