Ketchup

Sometimes I wonder when I grew up.

Although one would think hitting certain milestones (graduating college, landing a full-time job, marriage, moving, children, a mortgage, etc.) would be the catalyst, it was a ketchup bottle that drew it to my attention tonight.

As I put the dishes on the counter from our hurried meal of hotdogs, fries and salad, I noticed that our squeezy bottle of ketchup had red gunk caked on the top. Tired and disinterested, I opened the fridge to place it on the shelf. It was then that I realized that if I didn't clean off this lid, nobody would.

I am an adult caring for adult things.

Although both Steve and I got home from work later than we would've liked, the day was incredibly productive. We are looking forward to a long weekend; hanging just just the four of us.

A friend of ours gave us "Biter Bars" for the kids to try. We gave them each one this morning. Their reaction was really funny. Lilly wasn't sure what to think but would gnaw away at it as long as someone held it there. As expected, Josiah was VERY excited about being able to put something in his mouth that mommy and daddy approved of.

i love your ketchup realization . . . children have a way of reminding you, you're the adult. So weird to be grown up all of a sudden isn't it! The babies are looking healthy & happy! Have a great school year!
