Today marked the "official" start of the school year for our district. With the return of students, buildings were aflutter with teachers, administrators, parent volunteers, school busses, students, cafeteria workers, and classroom aides all trying to get somewhere or do something.
It was a very, very busy day.
Despite the carefully orchestrated chaos, I only had one thought on my mind.
Boy, did my feet hurt.
I remembered what it felt like to stand in heels all day, walking across the building and up and down stairs. Although it's silly, I haven't worn heels in almost a year (a couple months after I was pregnant) and after a nearly barefoot summer, I can't say I'm excited to get into that particular routine again.
Somehow we all managed to get through the day, and here Steve and I sit... tired and lethargic. Thanks to our friends and family who have sent their thoughts to us today as we start this new part of our lives. It was hard for me to leave the babies this the morning, but it was so comforting to watch Steve hold and care for them as I walked out the door.
Fall is my favorite season and I'm SUPER excited for the changing of leaves and crisp air. In fact, I love everything about fall. Bring on the sweatshirts and cider!
We can't wait for the holidays with Josiah and Lilly. They are the most amazing babies in the whole world and we continually remind ourselves how blessed we are.
