Day 2 – We survived Friday the 13th

Last night, as I hope to also enjoy tonight, I got a full night’s rest.  I was discouraged to wake up at 6:30 even though I wasn’t going in to work.  I fell back asleep, but it was just a few minutes before Josiah’s morning conversation with himself woke me up again.

We had a great day – a couple quick Skype calls with Beth (and Ashley and Kara) and an accidental Skype call with Granny B were welcomed distractions for the kids who’d been stuck with only my face to look at all day (technically they also got to see Jack Bauer, David Palmer, George Mason and Tony Almeida).

Today’s afternoon activity was our hour-long walk around the neighborhoods.  The weather was perfect and both Josiah and Lilly were awake off and on throughout the trip.  I was excited to remember to replace the headlights in Beth’s car (and was much more excited that the kids were perfectly content to watch me do it without needing to be entertained).

Some of my family came over (with dinner) tonight to celebrate my mom’s birthday – Happy Birthday!  They left about an hour ago – I’m now racing the clock to get to bed before it gets too much later!

I suppose I should mention that Bethany took the camera to Indiana with her.  You’ll have to wait until late next week to see the latest pictures of the kids!

Clothes-changing tally for today: 3 shirts and almost a pair of shorts (up from yesterday’s impressive 2 shirts)
