This weekend, with the help of many people, we installed a sprinkler system for the lawn.
It was a LOT of work.
There aren't enough Panera bagels, pizza or hoagies in all the world to tell you how grateful we are!
I know Steve would do better at explaining and giving you a play-by-play, but I like to rely on pictures to tell the story and since it's late, I'm dog-tired and my laptop battery is running low, I'll give you the abbreviated version.
Day One:
We made it til 9:30 am before the kids could wait to have their special popsicles.
Work began 9 am after breakfast.
The previous weekend, Steve had marked out where each trench was to be dug and flags where each sprinkler head would go.
There were several jobs to do at once:
Running the trencher machine
Digging holes for the sprinkler heads
Laying pipes in the trench
Assembling boxes (essentially a "command central" for intersections of pipe (there were four and each took at least an hour to put together)
Digging out the trenches with a special shovel to get any places the machine missed
And many, many more...
All this work so those will pop up and water our lawn!
Day Two:
More of the same...
Ran into a slight delay when we realized the old sidewalk was right in the path of where we needed to trench. The boys took turns hammering away and finally crashed through.

Although there's one spot Steve will need to fix, the majority of the work is done. It's with a sigh of relief that we crawl into bed tonight!!!
