oh.the.iphone.
I love that I can snap -decent- pictures of all our adventures throughout the day.
The twins was rather irritable and overly independent today. I don't know if it's new teeth (they're both getting more) spurring the change or the "terribly twos" hitting in full force, but they want to do everything by themselves and have started throwing fits when they can't.
I mean, really?
You can't get in your highchair by yourself so you go limp and start crying?
You can't walk in the middle of a parking lot by yourself so you sit there until mom or dad drag your out?
I wasn't ever like this, RIGHT?
If you didn't know us, I swear you'd think we let our kids run our household. There are SO MANY amazing things about this stage in their lives (running up to you on the floor, giggling and tickling you, bringing you books for you to read to them, pointing and identifying objects, spontaneous kisses and hugs, and oh I could go on). But, there are times my sweet natured, intelligent, flexible children turn into hot mess and I hardly recognize them.
And sometimes, I hardly recognize myself. For all the fun we had together today, I glanced at myself in passing (hauling a kid to their room for time out) and noticed my hair was sticking out at odd angles from my ponytail, I had blueberries on my face from their lunch, circles under my eyes, stains on my shirt and I had the LARGEST frown in my face...eyes all scrunched and angry.....
Took me a second to breath deeply and hug them a little tighter.
Today we read books together, played in the rain, splashed in the puddles, ate peanut butter sandwiches in the car, bought new shelving for the storage unit, cleaned the storage unit out and ran up and down the halls, went shopping for camping gear, (trip next weekend!) and snuggled at bedtime.
A success for sure.

Your babies are so darn cute!! And I have to say what a brave woman you are to take them everywhere! It took me months to figure out how to take just Cole and Bella with me places...then when the 2nd set of twins came, I was pretty much on house arrest again until I found the strength to venture out with all 4 of them.
The terrible 2's is a very difficult stage. And it's even tougher because they can't really verbalize what it is that they want just yet. So they cry...endlessly.
But they are a lot of fun at this age too!! Just the wonderment on their little faces when they discover something new is amazing.
Thank you so much for your comment!! And congratulations!!!
